It’s hard being a parent right?!?! Worrying about your kiddos when they’re sick, making sure your children do well in school, trying to be a good example and show them God’s love when sometimes you yourself need a time out??? To some parents those are the trivial things in life when you’re dealing with life-threatening illness.
Being a worrywort mom, {God’s still working on me,} I dread the day I have to take one of my girls to the ER, if I had it my way they would never get more than a bump or bruise, however I know God’s will may be different. My heart goes out to those parents who have to live with sick children who are undergoing treatment and even more so the parents and children of Samaritan’s Purse Children’s Heart Project.
The Children’s Heart Project [CHP] brings children with congenital heart defects to North America for life-saving surgery not typically available in their countries. Since 1997, CHP has helped more than 800 children from over a dozen nations.
Recently I received a copy of a documentary of three families who The Children’s Heart Project served called, Three Hearts.

In this documentary, we follow three Mongolian children and their families journey to America for life-saving surgery. We see each of the three children, 2 teenage boys and one toddler girl living with severe congenital heart defects that cannot be cured by any medical teams in their country.
CHP not only covers medical care and aftercare but living and travel expenses, and follow up visits post-op. All of these things add up to a lot of money, money that these children, nor their parents could even begin to earn. That is why donations from people like us are so important to this program.
When I heard one of the featured children say, “I prayed to God. I just want to be a normal boy.”, it breaks my heart. And seeing through the video just how thankful the parents are and how much they are learning about the love of God through the kindness of strangers is amazing. Needless to say I cried multiple times throughout this video. Being a parent and putting myself in their shoes I just can’t help but want to give.
I challenge you to watch this short video clip, and have two things with you, a box of tissues and an open heart. Be ready to change some lifes:
Now you may be asking God where you play a part in all of this.
I encourage you to search your heart and speak with your family about purchasing this video to get more information.
Three Hearts was released on Amazon.com and other retail outlets on February 15. You can get more information about the documentary, and CHP in general, at the links below.
