It’s that time of year again! Back-to-School, and Consignment sales! Most of my kids clothes come from consignment shops, hand-me-downs, or Super low mark-downs. Family and friends buy them some new pricey items, and occasionally for special days and events I will splurge for a sweet outfit. I just don’t see the need to pay full price for clothes that sometimes rarely, if ever, get worn. I think all of us at one time or another have cleaned out our kids closets to find an outfit with tags still on it. Or it may have only been worn once and forgotten. These are great pieces to find at consignment sales. The sale leaders are typically picky about what they will accept. Don’t believe that- be a consignor and watch how they scour your items you tagged. It’s not personal! You don’t want to buy an item with a tear or stain on it. I usually am shocked that something shows up under those lights in these shops versus what I see at home. It can be quite embarrassing. So don’t be afraid of what you will find. I was when I first started- Gymboree in mint condition for $5 Yes please! I feel its a good way for me to manage the finances.
