For our female readers, moms, aunts, grandmas, and women in general, menopause is a natural part of life, and something that every woman must experience, but how much do we really know about the details of menopause?
To help demystify menopause and educate the women of Charlotte on this topic, Mintview OB/GYN is hosting an exclusive screening of Hot Flash Havoc, a provocative and revealing documentary film at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 at the Mint Museum Randolph, 2730 Randolph Road, Charlotte.

Tickets are $25 per person and include a cocktail reception, dessert bar and post-screening talkback with local experts. Proceeds from the event will benefit the March of Dimes.
“I have seen this movie and it was hilarious,” says Mintview’s Dr. Alyse Kelly-Jones. “Not only that, this movie gets it right. Menopause treatment seems to attract controversy. This movie unravels the conflicting information and presents it in a way you can understand. Grab the women you love and bring them to the showing. You won’t regret it.”
Hot Flash Havoc is an enlightening, entertaining, controversial crash-course in what women need to know about perimenopause and menopause. The film sets the record straight about the government-sanctioned Women’s Health Initiative study released in 2002, which misrepresented that the hormonal replacement therapy being used by millions of women to treat the symptoms of menopause could actually increase the risk of heart attacks and cancer.
The documentary, reveals fact versus fiction stemming from a decade of misinformation about menopause. The compelling film conveys poignant personal stories shared by real women and in-depth interviews with noted experts.
