Recently. I had an amazing time talking with Cindy Williams, half of the duo that runs Green Jeans Consignment.
Cindy was an activities director that lost her job like many others in this economy. She has always been thrifty, but when she was making a great living and then lost her job, it made her think more seriously about shopping consignment sales. She found herself blown away at a women’s consignment sale in Milwaukee that was held by a boutique owner friend one trip to her family’s farm home. She had seen awesome kids sales before, but this women’s sale was unbelievable. In fact, she had to purchase another suitcase to bring home her new finds.
This INSPIRED her to bring this type of sale to Charlotte! She partnered with her sister, Dana. They call themselves, “Eco-Divas” – teaching people how to recycle their wardrobe. Rita, their mom visits and participated in every sale, it truly is a family event. Cindy and Dana also partner with charities for each sale. They are currently work with Dress 4 Success, the Give Back Boutique and with Charlotte and Rock Hill Junior League groups.

Green Jeans Consignment has held 7 sales total so far; 4 in Lake Norman and 3 in Rock Hill. Their newest addition is the Southpark area sale August 3-5th. It will be held at the Queens Sports Complex off Tyvola Rd., giving them a 5000 sq ft ballroom to host this event where ladies bring accessories, purses, jewelry, shoes and clothing to consign.

Keep an eye out on Fashion Fridays on Fox Charlotte where you can find them featured. And there is great news for the September LKN Sale: they are adding a 2nd ½ price sale day!!
Basic information if you are interested in consigning with Green Jeans:
o Consignors get 65% of sales if you tag your own items
o If Green Jeans tags your items for you, you get 50%
o Sort your items into categories
Accessories: jewelry, belts, scarves, shoes
Tops
Bottoms
o Then start entering items on the computer (3 of the 5 items to enter are drop down menus, and the last is a description).
o Print labels
o Cut and attach to your items
o Drop-off
o Shop the sale
o You can even track your own sales online.
o Collect your check.
