With the current state of the economy, rising gas prices, and the fact that it’s difficult to go on long trips with kids, we were recently asked to write an article for Little Ones magazine on staycations in Charlotte. Included in that article was one of our favorite spots to visit, Great Wolf Lodge Concord.
Great Wolf Lodge is a fun place to visit with the whole family because they have something for children of all ages {and parents too.} Whether you and the kids are climbing on the expansive Fort Mackenzie or your little ones are enjoying water slides just their size at the cub paw pool there are many water slides, pools, and wet activities to keep you busy for the whole day.
Typically you have to, “stay to play,” when it comes to Great Wolf Lodge, but sometimes it’s not practical for people already in the Charlotte area to stay for a night or two. However, the awesome people at Great Wolf Lodge are giving you, our readers a special treat!

I think we would love the Cub Paw pool!
We’ve never experienced the great Wolfe lodge. I have heard some amazing things about this place and would like to experience it with my family. Our favorite attraction might be the pool area.
The Tornado is amazing! We went to GWL for the first time last summer with our family. My husband and I took turns staying with the kids so the other could ride the Tornado. I cannot wait until my daughter is big enough for this ride!
WOW! What would my son say if I actually won a pass!! This sounds like an awesome place to take my 8 y/o son. It would be great to take a mini vacation for the day and treat him to the experience. We both loves water parks and I’ve been told they have the best one around! Beats the long drive to the beach for sure! Good luck to everyone entering – no doubt a fun time by all will be had!!

I’ve been wanting to try out the Great Wolf Lodge since I moved to Charlotte! My friends have always had great things to say about this place. Besides I would love to take a crack at the Howlin’ Tornado, and then take my daughter to the Raccoon Lodge.
We haven’t been to Great Wolf Lodge yet, but are excited to try it some day! I love that there are water areas for different aged kids, I know all of mine would have a wonderful day spent enjoying the many water activities
Money is so tight for us this year that we won’t be taking any vacations. This would be an awesome chance for us to make some special summer memories with our 3 young boys. They’d love the water slides the best! Thanks!

I have a daughter that is 19 months old and she loves the water! The other day she walked up to me and handed me her life vest, she is ready for pool! Lol I think she would love the indoor pool!

We went for 2 of our kids birthdays last year and 1 of the birthday girls got super sick. She didn’t get to fully enjoy the facility due to running a high fever so these passes would be great for a do-over!

The Great Wolf Lodge offers something for everyone of all ages. A great family outing!!
We have not had the chance to experience the GWL, YET ! My mother teaches in Eastern NC and her kids rave about it and say it is their favorite place to go. Our first and only child is now big enough to go to the GWL and he LOVES water, I think the Raccoon Lagoon would fit our family perfectly with the geysers and family activities like basketball. I hope to have the opportunity to visit the GWL this year.
My kids work very hard for our family business. I would love to be able to give them a special day, just for them, and I’ve heard such wonderful things about GWL; I know they would have the wonderful time they deserve.
Though we have not yet had a chance to experience GWL first hand, we have heard some unbelievable stories. Everything sounds like fun but I think we would most love the pool area. Our daughters LOVE to swim and have already been asking to go this year!

We visited GWL for the first time last year and my boys had such a great time. I hadn’t seen them laugh so much in a long while. Since then, they have been begging to go back. I would love to be able to take them again and see their smiles and hear those laughs.
We’ve never been to the GWL. I remember when that was empty space in Concord! I’d love to be able to take my son and give him a mini-vacation. It’s been so long since we could do anything “vacation-like” since I’m still looking for permanent work. He loves playing in water and I know he’d get a kick out of this place. Not only the water area, but the other little things I’ve heard about.

We looked up this location and considered going not long ago. We all love water parks in our home and I have two summer babies that love splashing.
My family has not been yet but would love to go check it out. I am sure my husband and son would have a great time. They have no fear the bigger the ride the better. Myself and other son would probably enjoy the smaller baby type section. We all love water!!!!
I actually love the restaurant, the kids love the waterpark(I remind them to wait a half-hour after we dine of course). When we go here I dare them to be bored-& i never lose
I LOVE that there is something for ALL ages. There is plenty do for preschoolers, and I LOVE that there are highly trained lifeguards watching every step!

I love that Great Wolf Lodge supports the Boys & Girls Club of America through their annual fundraiser! I love that you can visit MagiQuest without staying at the hotel. I am very excited to bring my children to the waterpark because I think they will love all of it! I also appreciate the training that your lifeguards are given to prepare them for keeping guests safe.
We haven’t had the opportunity to check out great wolf lodge but always hear great reviews. My two little ones will love the water park, and me being pregnant would definitely enjoy some fun splashing around while avoiding the heat outside
I’ve never been to Great Wolf Lodge but if I had I think I’d say the best thing about GWL is that it allows my kids to expend all their energy. So that when we get home, they sleep for hours!
We have never been to Great Wolf Lodge, but would love to experience it with my husband and our 2.5 year old. He would love the Cub Paw Pool {and watching Daddy go down the Mountain Edge Raceway!!!}.
We have never been to Great Wolf Lodge but it seems like it would be SO much fun for the kids (and parents) without the worry of sun burns which is always such a huge concern of mine! Plus I am betting the nap that would follow such a fun day long activity would be priceless!

We got the chance to go to Great Wolf Lodge twice on a marriage retreat with the army and we have so many fond memories of hanging out with our friends and playing with our daughter in the pool. But it would be nice if we could go just the 3 of us , especially now that our daughter is older and can enjoy the park more…. and it would be a cool parallel to our new “civi” lives : )

We have never been to the GWL here in Charlotte. I have been to the one in Williamsburg many, many years ago, and would love the opportunity to share something so fun with my kiddos! I am SURE that my son would love any type of waterslide- Lord knows, his favorite thing to do is set the hose at the top of his playground slide, to make his very own “do-it-yourself” waterslide right in our backyard!
My girls would love all of the pools and water slides. The Lily Pad jumping looks like a lot of fun too! I love that they have mini-golf and mini-bowling for the kids after a fun day of water activities! Would LOVE to take my 2 girls there:)

Great Wolf is Awesome! The boys love the little wading pool and are so enthralled every time the bucket of water drops! We’d love to return!

I love the fact that you never have to leave! Not for food…not for a nap…not to get warm (since the temp is always just right)…It is truly a getaway!
