Students with teacherCan you believe it?  School has already started for some and is about to start for others!  Are you looking for a positive way to begin the school year?  Creative gifts for your child’s new teacher can be a great way to start a new school year. Here are a few fun back to school gifts, created by some awesome crafty parents and bloggers, to give to teachers that show teacher appreciation from the beginning of the school year.

Gifts for Teachers

Teachers help children to grow (hand prints or flower pot)–  Using your child’s hand print is always a great addition to crafts.  Another gift idea for your child’s teacher is you can use your child’s hand print and decoratively write “Always here to lend a helping hand!”  There are so many ways to get creative with hand prints!  These two links will be great for teacher appreciation week as well!

Door Tags for Teachers and Staff — This is definitely a favorite and it is very easy to make.  They have kits and/or materials for door tags in most stores.

Fun Crafts with “Smarties” Candy — There are many different ways to use “Smarties” in a craft, you can also develop your own phrase and display it creatively.

Crayon Wreath — This is so artistic and beautiful!

A Welcome Back Teacher Vase — This is a fun gift that children and parents can make together!

Treats for Teachers –  These look like the best tasting apples ever “made!!”  Yummy Oreo-Pop Apples!!!

Andes Mints and Apples — This is another fun gift for a teacher!

A Heartfelt Note from your Child to their New Teacher — This is a great personalized way for a child to develop a relationshipTeacher with their new teacher.  Let your child add their own thoughts and personal touches to individualize the note to their new teacher.

Back to School Gifts from Parents to their Children

Back to School Breakfast or Dinner — Make your children some of their favorite food and create a theme of back to school by setting the table with a table cloth made out of notebook paper and make a menu on note book paper.  Use two pencil holders with pencils and erasers as your center pieces!!  These decorations could also be a great set up for a back to school party!!

Fun with Goldfish (“You’re O-FISH-ally a 2nd grader”) –  For younger children, notes in their lunch box or snack bag may brighten their day, especially if they are missing you or missing their old routine.  Notes can serve as encouragement or can remind them of how much you love them!

Start a New Picture Tradition

First day of school pictures — This will become a fun trip down memory lane in years to come and really easy to do!

Whether it is edible, homemade, a quick note or an elaborate craft, “gifts” for your child’s upcoming teacher is a fun, positive way to start the school year.  It doesn’t have to be big and expensive, it is the thought that counts!!  Also, pray for your children, other students, teachers, parents and yourself as you embark on a new school year!  The Charlotte Moms are praying for you all (and ourselves) too!!

What kinds of crafts do you and your children make for your child’s new teacher(s)?
