Charlotte Activities and Events August 20 – August 31

Now that learning is in session or about to be in session for some schools in the greater Charlotte area summer is over…..no wait, that’s not right! There are plenty of activities happening in our community between now and the end of August that you and your family should take advantage of.

For Dads (and sons)

Grab your father or your son and head to the Chick-fil-A “Father-Son Football Night” Monday, August 20th from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. During this special evening, fathers and their sons are encouraged to spend time together while they enjoy dinner, great conversation and several special activities.

Seatings are available every hour, and reservations are required. The activities of the evening are free, minus the cost of food. Visit www.chick-fil-afatherson.com to make a reservation.

*This event will be hosted at 36 Chick-fil-A® restaurants in Charlotte, feel free to call and make sure your local restaurant participates.

For the Frugalistas

Learn how to, “Lower the Cost of College!” with SAFE College Funding on Thursday, August 23rd from 7pm – 9pm at the YMCA Hemby.

Don’t miss Chef Cordell and The Wonderful World of Chocolate Tasting on Friday, August 24th from 7:00 pm-9:30pm held at the Annex.

For Nature-Minded Families

Make sure you check out Discovery Place this month as they celebrate arthropods! Stop by the “Explore More Life lab” Saturdays for Cockroach races at 11:00 am and make sure you cheer on your favorite cockroach.
