On the night of Thurday, May 26th I had the fun pleasure of meeting members of a gang, eating dog treats, and watching some electrical wonders. Now I’m sure you’re wondering what would lead me to do all of the above craziness, but if you guessed Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular attraction at Carowinds you guessed right.
When I arrived at this amazing media event I was greeted by some pretty amazing people, you guessed it, Charlie Brown and the Peanut Gang!! A few of my other local blogger friends were there too, from L to R: Me, Brittany, Lisa, and Maricris! Check us out:
After meeting “the gang” we were treated to some Snoopy snacks, and I was certainly glad that Snoopy enjoys turkey burgers, fried chips, chicken tenders, and s’mores among other delicious foods.
{sorry I took this picture when it was getting dark out}
Now to the best part of the night! I got to experience an amazing LED light show that Carowinds has been working on with acclaimed lighting designer Andrew Strain and some of their very own staff as well. I was surprised to learn that there were 42 miles of wiring underneath the ground for this display, not to mention all of the above ground work. Needless to say there was a lot of hard work and creativity that went into this great show.
This is a fantastic display for the entire family and Carowinds is proud to announce that they will be keeping the park open until 10:00 pm instead of their usual 8:00 pm close time. This is a huge bonus for families and will allow them to view Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular and the Nights of Fire fireworks show in their best setting, the dark.
I think these shows will make a great addition to the park and make Carowinds even more family friendly. This also means great things for out-of-town visitors who want to spend the “entire day” at the park, an extra two hours when you’re travelling from far from home means even more family fun.
So enough “talking” here are some sneak peek pictures for you to enjoy until you can see it for yourself {For more great photos and video check out our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/thecharlottemoms}:

Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular boasts 4 great “sections” of the light show; music, sports, girlie, and U.S.A. We managed to find each theme by the music, and fun light up Peanuts characters. This is definitely a great ending to a family trip to Carowinds and I can’t wait to bring my girls!
What’s your favorite family feature of Carowinds? Are you excited about the new hours and attractions?
