Discovery Place KIDS is known throughout the Charlotte area for being the premiere location for kids to let loose and have a ball. Well, now that it is turning 1 year old, the folks over at Discovery Place- Huntersville are giving kids and grown ups alike another chance to have even more of a ball….a masquerade ball that is!
On October 21st, Discovery Place KIDS is hosting its very first FUNdraiser for the museum, Can Can’s Masquerade Ball. Attendees are encouraged to don their “masquerade chic” and head out to the museum for an enchanted evening of music, crafts, activities and food. Not only can kids come in full costume, they will also be able to make their own masquerade mask, decorate lanterns, and juggle like a jester. They can also build a castle for Can Can, Discovery Place KIDS’s very own mascot who will be in attendance. What ball would be complete without delicious morsels to nosh on as you enjoy the evening’s delights? {Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served to refresh families as they play throughout the museum.}
As Discovery Place KIDS is a community museum, charitable donations and community help sustain programming and special educational efforts. The money raised from this event will help support the superior educational programming they offer to our children. The event is from 6:30 to 9pm, and adult tickets are $50 while children’s tickets are $25. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to have a night of family fun that also supports continuing education and creativity in our area. Thanks for the great giveaway. I love your posts Stephanie, super helpful ideas for fun things to do with the kiddos.
This sounds like a “BALL”.
We love the arts n craft room!!!
What a fun event. We love the Learning Garden. In fact, I think I have a whole photo book of my daughter running around in there.
My little one loves the Under the Sea section (particularly the yellow submarine) and the grocery store
Kate that’s one of our favorites too! Be sure to add more of your favorites daily for up to 9 chances to win
My sons love the Town Market.
We have just moved to the area and haven’t been to the museum yet! It is definitely on our list to do.
You will love it, and feel free to put what areas you think you and your child(ren) will like and we’ll count those as entries too.
My sons also love the Learning Garden.
Moo’s favorite area is the aquarium. She loves fish.
Trinity and I love the Healthy town market!! She loves grocery shopping and the cash register!
Trinity also loves the I can work–veterinarians office. She even has a favorite doggie there because we have the same one at home named BINGO!
We like the I can create section especially when they have the beads out so that we can make bracelets! (can more than one entry count made on the same day?)
Next we enjoy the town center’s sliding board/jungle gym.
We still love the I can grow section for little sister Jordyn and Trinity still loves the water table play area.
Trinity is reminded of our past traveling when upstairs; thus, likes going through airport security section (I can move).
At the learning garden we enjoy the magnetic corn. She wants every magnetic piece to have corn on it.
We like using the crane and conveyor belt in the I can build area.
In the under water section Trinity likes to get on the dolphin and take pictures.
Jason and Gabriella love the grocery store
